Why Join Co-op Supply’s Member Community

Membership in our cooperative is different than a typical retailer loyalty program. Co-op Supply is owned and directed by our collective membership. It’s part of our homegrown nature and how we stay on top of our unique communities’ needs as they evolve.

Membership rewards, including cash dividends and company equity, are calculated annually based on profitability. Patronage is generally paid out to eligible members in November or December based on purchases made from April 1st the previous year through March 31st of the current year.

Members earn rewards based on purchases across a range of different product categories.

While membership is not practical for all our customers, everyone benefits from our business model and purchasing power.

To qualify and maintain a lifetime membership, purchases must be made annually. Co-op Supply must also have a completed W-9 form on file for each member.

Patronage is your cash dividend, distributed to eligible members each year in November or December.

Patronage represents 49% of your dividend earned over the previous fiscal year. The rest of your dividend is invested in company equity, paid directly to you after a period of time established by the Board of Directors (currently every six years).

Fifty-one percent (51%) of each member’s earned annual rewards are automatically invested in Co-op Supply’s operations. After a set period, currently six years, members receive cash reimbursement for their accumulated equity. The equity check is typically issued in November or December when annual patronage is distributed.

Co-op Supply is run by a Board of Directors made up of members, and the input of all interested members through our Annual Meeting. Members receive notice of this meeting directly and through multiple venues.

On a more immediate basis, our store staff and management team are attuned to member and customer feedback.

There is no membership card to carry around. Instead, each time you check out, just tell our customer care cashier your member account name. That’s it!

Receipts include the account name. This is how members know each purchase is counted.

How to Join and Maintain Membership

Come On In

Next time you visit your favorite Co-op Supply store, go to any of the check-out registers and tell the customer care staff you’re ready to join. They’ll ask you for three things.

W-9 form

Complete a W-9 form, provided by our staff. Per IRS guidelines, a W-9 form must be on file for patronage to be paid. Be prepared to accurately provide the following information.

  • Legal name of the member as shown on IRS tax return
  • Business name, if different from legal name; business classification; exemptions

To receive proper credit for all your purchases, inform Co-op Supply about the following.

  • Change of address
  • Change of name on the account

Download and complete the correct form or forms and either mail it/them or drop it/them to our Marysville office or your favorite store.
